Strike King 10Xd

Featured Replies

I just bought 2 sk 10 xd wat are your thoughts on it for the people who use them? The thing is ima throw it on 10lb fc sniper 7ft6in crank rod

10 lb line is wayyyy to light for that. in my opinion, 15 lb. min 20 lb being best.

I've fished mine a few times now and I can tell you that 20# line is to thick for the lure to reach 25 feet. 15# will probably end up being the best all around choice for these baits but I'm going to try it with 12# CXX next outing to see how deep I can get it. You'll be fine using 10# line as long as you don't backlash, if you do then you could have a problem. Mine doesn't float back to the surface very fast at all so if you do have a breakoff during a cast, give it a second to resurface. When mine hits the water at the end of a cast it "sinks" below the surface for a good 10 seconds or so before resurfacing if I don't start my retrieve.

I fish mine on 20lb braid. Gets down pretty deep. I don't throw it much. I have caught 2 fish on it. A 10" fish and a 5lber.

It is not fun throwing it in 100 degree temps.

I throw 'em on a 7'6" heavy rod, Abu 5500C3 and 20lb. Big Game. It's kinda like draggin' a plow through the water. I've caught some nice fish on it, but crankin' that thing ain't for sissies

10xd is rated 25foot with 14-15# flouro from everything I have read.
