Renting Boat On Pickwick

Featured Replies

Obviously I am boat less, I am fairly new to TN and am actually moving back to NC soon and am making it a priority to fish Pickwick once before I leave TN. My question is do you guys know of any places on Pickwick (TN) that rent fishing boats? I do not need anything fancy, just something to get me from A-B. any help is appreciated....I am not even sure if it is an option, most boats I saw online for rent are party boats (pontoon).

Why not find a guide? It would probably run around the same cost with the added benefit of an experienced angler to help get on some fish and maybe learn a new technique too.

Ha looks like that is what I may have to do.......I just prefer to be out on my own, more relaxing for me.

If you have never fished Pickwick Lake it is huge, can be very very rough, and hard to locate fish when you are not familiar.  Hire a guide and catch a boat load of probably personal best fish.  It will be well worth the cost.  There are guides for most any species you are after.  Just do a little Googling and also look at Mid-South Hunting and Fishing News.  For usually $2-300 it is cheaper than renting a boat and most guides will even clean your catch at the end of the day.

Okay thanks for the advice.  I am not familiar with the lake and can for sure see being frustrated trying to learn the lay of the land in a day, I appreciate the help and am convinced a guide is the right approach.
