Weightless Beaver Baits

Featured Replies

Anyone throw Beaver baits weightless with success? I read somewhere that this is a deadly technique as the bait will glide and "parachute" like a real craw would on the fall.

Anyone care to share their weightless Beaver Experiences?

i pitch them around grass lines alot and do pretty well

To make the bait glide you have to rig it backwards ( inserting tne hook  between the flaps ), sweet beavers are quite heavy but you can make it sink faster by inserting a 1/64 - 1/96 oz nail sinker in the tail side.

It's the same presentation that can be used with a swimming frog (Horny Toad, etc) The lure shape is not as important as the presentation.

Raul is right and the bigger ones seem to glide the best.
