First Time In New Kayak

Featured Replies

Caught 5 in an hour. Biggest was 5.4. Extremely stable and more fun than I thought. More fun than my johnboat that I sold and my canoe that I sold.

:-)

That's AWESOME man! Congrats! I'll say, yak fishing is a blast, but I haven't touched mine since I bought my boat... I've become VERY lazy! hahaha.

If you're into saltwater fishing, you'll LOVE catching salties from it too. Nothing better than hooking into redfish out a yak!

Great report. Thanks for sharing and congratulations on having a successful first voyage. At least you did better than the Titanic.

My friend has a yak and he loves it. Carries it around with him in his pickup truck.

He tells me he catches some big bass out of his yak but I think he is full of it. Then again, maybe he is catching  big bass out of his yak.

Keep those stories coming and post some pics plus the yak's specifications.

That's so true.

All you need to add is one of these: http://backwaterpaddles.com/

I just bought the Assault hand paddle and wow, awesome for when you don't need the big paddle.
