Berkley Backslides

Featured Replies

Has anyone tried the new backslide soft baits from Berkley? The principle behind them is interesting and seems like it would be effective. However, I have yet to try them and am wondering if any of you know if the work. Thanks.

I bought a pack and I have to say I was a bit disappointed in them.  Yes they are dual density baits but the difference in the weight IMO is marginal.  I rigged it weightless on a 2/0 EWG light wire hook and the slide back is marginal at best.  I'm still working the lure so the jury is still out but my initial impressions is I still prefer the Zoom Fish Doctor and a finishing nail.

Rig many (probably most) plastic baits with a nail in the tail and you find it will fall backwards.
