Sunglasses - Flying Fisherman

Featured Replies

Looking for testimonials on Flying Fisherman sunglasses. They are the only semi-affordable glasses I could find that offer polarized vermillion tinted/mirror finished lenses, for a reasonable price. I can't drop $150-$300 on a pair of Costas or Oakleys...  Amber/Brown, Smoke and lately even blue tint sunglasses give me a headache after only an hour or so. Only the rose/vermillion tinted lenses give me a full day's worth of fishing without a headache...

I have a pair of their polarized aviators, no complaints for the price!

Solar bat noc series glasses are great at 50@

before having to use a Rx lens for getting old,  I used a polarized lens that were light yellow (i.e. a shooting lens)  or basic black which can be a pain with light levels

for fly fishing guys its more important than just being able to see into the water its also a vital eye protection.  When a made the change over to rod and reel fishing I never lost that second nature of using the glasses as eye protection which came in handy when my son pulled a lure out of a weed mat and it flew across my face where it would have hit me square in the eye

so if there is anyway to get good sturdy glasses even if they cost a bit more     splurge   eye protection may not be as critical as when fly fishing but it seems to me to be money well spent

I would suggest looking at www.sierratradingpost.com for sunglasses.  They always have a decent selection and if you do a search for a coupon or sign up for their deal flyer you can get them pretty cheap.

I was looking at a pair of Smith polarized with their rose copper lenses that normally retail for around 120 for about $40.  They will also have costas in there but you have to check frequently because they usually don't last to long.

I'll second flyfisher about sierra trading post. They have some great prices some times. If you see something you want, buy it when you see it. It won't last long, and may not ever show up again.
