Jig weight question

Featured Replies

This may sound stupid.Because i dont quite know how to word this but do 5/16 and 7/16 translate into like 3/8ths or 5/8ths or any of the average weights we throw. And if not do any of those weigh more then 5/8ths. I hope somebody can help me. Tight lines

8/16 = 1/2 oz

7/16 is JUST shy of half an ounce.

4/16 = 1/4 oz

5/16 is JUST over a quarter ounce.

5/16 is 1/16 heavier than 1/4.  7/16 is 1/16 lighter than 1/2.  Neither is over 5/8.  Hope that helps.

We posted the same exact thing at the same exact time!

Wow thank you ao much guys that helped so much.So neither one is heavier then 5/8ths so if a rod was listed for 5/8ths and above then the sloest one to that would be the 7/16ths. Thank you so much guys im glad im not the only late night bass addict

Keep in mind, 7/16 is still under the min. rating for that rod.  But add a trailer to that jig and you're probably at or above 5/8oz. ;)
