Blaze Crankbaits

Featured Replies

Anyone ever fished these with success? Do they run true,Do they have decent action? Are they durable? Do they catch fish? Im asking because the price point on some is like $2 and some change on each.Im kinda skeptical about them and would like to know if they are any good.

Thanks

They are over priced... ;)

I'd sooner invest in some of those budweiser bottle spoons.

Are they really THAT good??? ;)

The price is really relevant most of the time , low price  , poor quality.

Obviously the nayayers have never used them.  They are @2.99 and I use them, the blaze minnow and popper, the minnow is one my favorite jerkbaits.  At 2.99 I don't care how long they last, but have a few a that are 2 or 3 years old, I replace the hooks with #4 vmc saltwater trebles.  Bottom line, I catch lots of fish with them.

Yeah, spend the same amount of money upgrading hooks and replacing it when the paint flakes off or the body splits as you could on one Xrap or Rebel that will last five times as long? I can see the sense in that. ;)

I got the 6 pack of blaze lures for Christmas last year. They are cheaper and more brittle than Renegade lures.  The only use I have found for the ones that haven't broken apart is practicing my lure painting skills...

Their lipless cranks seem OK.   Nothing great but an OK lipless to throw in rough situations.  I fish from shore so I lose quite a few cranks so the lack of long term durability is moot.    Think I have a popper but no impressed with it.  Obviously there are better options but if it's going to end up stuck in a sunken tree (or shopping carriage) by the 3rd time out using it, $2 is about the right price as they tend to run pretty well.

I used to see them on clearance all the time at Walmart and picked up a couple of the cranks but never had any luck with them before the paint flaked or chipped or they stopped running true.

I've used them, and although I've never caught anything on them, the action is good, colors are decent, and the 3-5 foot divers run straight, even when burning them, right out of the package.
