Smith Mountain Lake... Anybody Having Luck There

Featured Replies

I fished a tournament there yesterday and it was tough. My partner and I didn't catch a fish after 930. We catching the fish on drop shot on rip rap banks. Anybody catching them on anything different or in different areas?

I was out there yesterday from about 9 am to about 4 pm.  Caught 1, ~3lb on a dock that was 2 back from the main water point.  Dock was in about 15 of water at it's end. What were you doing to catch them prior to 9:30?

Thanks for the replies and info. A few others fishing caught fish on docks with a drop shot. And we didn't throw a Carolina rig but I did try a crank bait for a while. If I go again soon I will prob try a Carolina rig though.

A co-worker of mine went out Sunday and caught a couple of fat smallies and a striper on a flutter spoon. He said if you didnt let it touch down on the bottom and then rip it up you wouldnt get bit.
