I just want your guys opinion on these two rods. I have two signature series rods and I love them. BPS has the Carbonlite on sale for 79.97. What's the difference between these two rods as far as quality goes other than a $40 price difference. I would be buying 2 baitcasters and 3 spinning rods. I am also thinking non- micro guide rods. Any reason I should buy micro guide rods? Thanks in advance for any help.

The JM Sigs have fuji K series Guides and different blank material but the rod feels heavier than the carbonlite. The carbonlites use pac bay guides in both models.

 

I have a micro series carbonlite and I like it a lot. Maybe buy some reg guide rods and a micro if you plan to pitch to try it. The 7ft6 heavy micro rod is as light as they come.

I have a Carbonlite spinning rod. I Love it. But when I got it guides were a little big and felt thin to me but it has held up with not one problem for two years, I don't beat my rods up but things do happen and it is quality. I am heading to Orlando this weekend and I need a new casting rod so I hope the deal is still on I would not hesitate to buy another. And I agree with Diggy the Carbonlite is deffinitely a lighter feel to it than the JM or almost any other rod. It also has plenty of hook setting power.  For 80 bucks you cannot beat that deal.

Cadman, I think you'd do good with the Carbolite, the Pac-Bay guides are pretty good as the insert used is more than hard enough, the JM signature uses the K series with alconite rings, superior to the pac-bay one used on the carbonlite but, the k series really benefits you is you use braid, if you use flouro, mono, or copoly then the k series guides are just good guides. I don't use braid except for heavy cover frogging so I'm not concerned as much with the tangle free guides. It appears the blank is very similar, the Carbolite for other lines, the k series for braid.

Ive been fishing two Carbonlites with regular guides and i love them. My 6'9"MH xfast is my favorite worm rod now and i ll be replacing my other rods as needed.

I love the carbonlites, but my experience with their guides (and every other pac bay guided rod I've owned) is the inserts fall out. I've returned two carbonlites already. Never had an issue with fuji or even the ss304's pure fishing uses.
