Weight Estimate

Featured Replies

LOL, I have yet to see the OP return to this thread since posting. Yes, the bass was big and beautiful, who knows how heavy it was, I still want to know what was wrong with the scale that was right next to him the whole time!!  LOL.

He said it wasn't working in his post lol. But great catch regardless of weight.

Sometimes it's hard to read something with a pic of a big bass right below it.

LOL. That's true, all I could see was that big mouth staring at me.

I use a Rapala digital scale. They are around 20 dollars and take one 9 volt battery. Seems to work the best for me. I have tried other scales with mixed results.   I do not have confidence in spring scales. They need to be calibrated often. The Berkeley digital scales suck. I have had the Rapala digital for a few years now.

As far as weight of that fish... It is hard to say. 25 inches is a big bass. Doesn't look exceptionally fat though.  I think NEjitterbugger said it right though. Fish come in all shapes. Its all about the girth.

Is the rapala digital scale you Guys have the touch screen or the mini scale? Both weigh up to 50lbs. I got the rapala touch screen scale but haven't opened it up yet because I haven't caught anything worth weighing yet.

I would say this bass is at least 7lbs
