Hey guys so 2 quick questions for yall. I see a lot of people talking on here as well as on videos about fishing grass and weed lines. My question is a basic one, but how do you find the underwater grass? Can you see it on a depth finder and if so what does it look like? I recently got an Elite-7 so I have sonar and DSI. I am getting better at reading but grass was something I was not sure about.

 

Also I have read some people say that if a lake is stained or muddy then it will not have grass because sun light does not get down deep enough, on the other hand I have also read some people say every lake has grass. So which is it?

you should be able to tell what a hard bottom looks like on the graph. the grass should be a lighter color and will be either in humps or jagged points. I've never been to a lake with out grass. but normally 20ft or less is a good place to start looking

Try cruising the flats 20ft or less, typically ive seen most beds stop at 18ft. Go in straight lines and watch yourdepth if your setting are correct it may show up a lighter color/shade of grey. Ive got a much cheaper model and once I figured the settings out I can tell individual plants from clumps. T

Your DSI unit should show you the individual stems of vegetation.

I do not have my computer with me with examples, but will send you some when I get home in a few days.
