Can anyone help me with how to take apart a Qauntum Burst Baitcaster BU660CX reel? I can't seem to figure out how to take the side plate off to figure out why the level wind isn't working.

If it's like most Quatums, there is a spring loaded latch just under the level wind. The latch needs to slid in while rotating the side plate. The side plates can be real tight first time off. I believe those sell for around $70, an entry level but not quite throw away. It may be worth sending in.

The gears are affordable.
