I hear/read a lot of stories of people using braid, and having it bleed on the rod/reel they are using. Me being the way I am, I understand it may not harm the reel, but it would really bother the heck outta me. So, my question is, is there any braid that doesn't bleed? Or not as much as others? I really wish to spool up my flip/pitch combo with some 832, but the bleeding could drive me nuts.

from my experience 832 simply faded rather than bleed, its amazing line but the color fading bothers me. i use spiderwire stealth right now its cheaper and has not bled or faded one bit in several months, although i think alot of people dislike SW

I use regular Fireline and like it a lot on my spinning reels. I have never noticed the color coming off on my equipment but it does come off on my fingers if I hold the line while filling the spool. All braids will lose their color it's just the nature of the material that dyes don't stick to it very well. It doesn't bother me at all.

Spectra, the fiber used to make super braids, is a natural dull white and is dyed other colors like dark grey, green, yellow, red, etc. the dye shouldn't bleed, just fade.

I've never seen bleeding, just fading. The fading doesn't affect me, as I figure a lighter green isn't gonna be any better or worse than a darker green.

Which lines "bleed" their color onto your reel or rod? I've tried a lot of them and have never experienced this situation. Most braids do loose their color, but it;s more of a fading vs. bleed. And the fading has never appeared to be harmful to the line, at least for me.

Thank you all for the replies, crazy I probably should of done some deeper research into it, I must of read the only cases of bleeding to ever be recorded haha. Glad to know I can buy with confidence now, thanks!
