Maine License Question

Featured Replies

I am visiting a family member in the hospital in Bangor. I'm hoping to sneak in a little fishing time here and there.

I know I can buy a license online. The website says that I have to have it on my possession at all times. Does this need to be a hard copy or is my phone ok?

Massachusetts isn't as picky, so I only have it on my phone. So I was wondering what that law in Maine is.

Thanks.

Ive been stopped by a few different wardens when fihsing and have actually never asked for my license. They were more concerned with boat stuff. But just to be safe id print it out. better safe then sorry. Plus there is a small clause saying not valid until signed.

Ok thanks. I'm in a hotel. I'm just hoping that there's a printer I can use real quick.

Regardless of what I read or heard, I would carry the hard copy at all times, it's just so simple.

Can anyone PM their opinions of Penobscot river, kenduskeag stream, and hermon pond? I'll have a medium / xf rod for soft baits. So my options are limited and I'm on the shore.

Thanks.

Penobscot River is one of the premier smallie waters in the state! *** you! It was once polluted pretty badly, but now it's a terrific place to catch not only numbers but also some to brag about. I'm not familiar with the exact spots up there for shore fishing, but I bet the front desk at your hotel or a local bait shop would know. Any chance you could throw a crankbait or two?

I don't have personal experience with other places you mentioned, but if you go online to the Hook and Bullet website they have some good reports on Maine waters. Good luck, and post some pics!
