How do you "tune" a RedEye Shad?

Featured Replies

Was reading an article where it was mentioned that after using these lures for a time, it's necessary to tune them like a regular crankbait.  I've got one that likes to run on it's side, so do you just bend the tie to the right or left?

yep usually works for me.. If it runs to the right bend the eyelet left. If it runs left bend the eyelet right..Use caution though, the adjustment necessary to make it run correctly will be small.

It should be tuned to a fourth below A440. (the A above middle C)

I tuned mine into a large hefty bag and went to another brand. lol

I'd consider that except they are the fish catchinest lipless crank I've ever tossed 8-)

That would be an E

I sometimes go down a half step. Love that diminished fifth interval. I like to give them something they haven't heard much. ;D ;D

oh yeah. E.

and yes, largemouth love a good tri-tone.  ;D

Smash it off a dock!  :)

Running on its side , it will not be fixed by tuning it , I'd say it's defective.

I'm having the same issue too. I bought them before and never had a problem with them before but the new batch I just got, seem to run the side.

one questions does the xr50 have the same fall reaction as the red eye shad?
