Best Bass In Dfw, Tx?

Featured Replies

I live just outside of the city in the DFW area and I was wondering if anyone had any advice on lakes within an hour or so of Fort Worth or Denton? i do shore fishing primarily but my family is looking at buying a joe boat and I myself am looking at getting a kayak with a trailer before it starts warming up next year! So lakes or ponds that have good spots relatively close to launch points and even lakes would be fantastic.  I have looked at a couple of forum maps but after going to look for a non-existent pond that was on the map I kind of lost faith in them.. Any advice or current and good maps are greatly appreciated! :)

Ponds in subdivisions around here are very common and usually provide easy access and great fishing. Google maps satellite view is your friend! As for lakes, they typically offer limited bank fishing opportunities. There is a nice state park near at Ray Roberts that has a pier and kayak rentals. Also, Grapevine has above average bank fishing access from various parks around the lake.

I lived in Euless growing up and we always slayed them over at Grapevine Lake. All I can remember is going up and down the dam, but I'm pretty sure we caught fish anywhere we went up there. Best of luck!
