Featured Replies

Okay guys, I was fishing tonight in one of the canals here around the fountainbleau,Doral area and I catch one on this. I don't know what kind of fish it was and the picture is pretty bad because i couldn't take a better picture before the line snap. I didn't want to grab it by the mouth because i didn't know what kind of fish it was. It took with him $8 rapala back to the water ( d**n it). Do you guys know what kind of fish is this? That's for the help

More description to see if someone else can identify it. No whiskers. Spotted on lower part of the body(breast) and a long anal fin snakehead like.

May be a Bowfin?

Can't tell by the picture but it looks extraterrestrial

Not a bowfin and definitely not a peacock. This was something else. I hoped is not another invasive species. It was around 14 or 15 inches long. And a good fighter too.

An alien spacecraft picked up a bowfin and a peacock and bred them and dropped it off full of eggs to fill waters with a new feisty super fish!

Got it. Its a jaguar!! I shifted my screen a little and I looked at the pic again. I saw the spots. That's one of the tells of a jag. Here look at this jag I caught one night and tell me if it looked like this?

15 inch Jaguar

LOL. You have to tilt your head to the right to capture the image of the fish. I think it was spinning clockwise when the pic was taken.

Ding Ding Ding Ding! That's the fish. I couldn't tell it was a jaguar because the jaguar picture on the FWC website looks like a different fish. Thanks BassinLou. And btw I can now add another species to the list.

No idea but I would call him Bob.
