Any Nba Fans Out There?

Anyone else out there an NBA fan?  I am not as big a fan as I am of baseball and football but i still enjoy watching both the pros and college.  As anyone who has read any of my posts can probably guess, I am a Sixers fan which is pretty tough here lately but the future could be good.  We went to probably one game a year as a kid and it was always against the hated celtics.  I was also lucky as i got older to be able to see pretty much every superstar play in person like Olajuwon, Shaq, Barkley, Malone, Magic, Bird, Iverson, Moses Malone, Kareem, Kobe (actually saw him play in high school), Rasheed Wallace and I am sure a few more that I am not remembering.   Only baseball is a better game to see in person in m opinion.

And before anyone starts off how they are over paid, thugs blah blah blah keep it to yourself as all athletes are paid what the market will bare and every one of us would probably do the same thing if we could.

Anyways as i watch the sixes play the wizards and am hoping the carter-williams kid turns out as good as his historic debut the other night I figured i would post.

I'm a Syracuse fan and we hated to see Carter-Williams go, but there was no chance he'd stay. I can't imagine a better NBA debut than his.

I'm a NBA fan LOVE this time of year where we have football and basketball at the same time!

I found it funny you named all Hall of Famers and then you throw in Rasheed Wallace lol. Funny thing about Sheed he had the ability to be one of if not the greatest players in NBA history because of his talent and skill set but MENTALLY he didn't have it... There are a lot of current and former players who fall into that category.

I know you are a Sixers fan and that kid Carter Williams man what a performance! One of the most ridiculous stat lines EVER and oh yeah it was his NBA debut amazing.

Miami doesn't have it locked up, but I still think we got this, the NBA has gotten a lot better.

PS: only reason why you guys beat us is because AI was in the building huge emotional up lift.

I am a huge fan of Doug Collins the man and the coach I didn't want to see him leave the Sixers. But I think you his have a young and upcoming team and you will make some noise with in the next few years... Just sit back though and enjoy Miami and Lebron win for the next "not 1, not 2, not 3, not 4, not 5" more years lol see what I did there

I think they won because it was a back to back for miami and wade was out....as far as sheed goes i saw him play in high school too and he is often regarded as one of the smartest players in the game and used that to his advantage.  Yeah he had a crazy temper and got tons of technicals but he was a true coach on the floor.

Watching the wizards makes me think back to the weber, howard and sheed days and why break up those three.....oh yeah it was for money

And i have no doubt that Lebron is the greatest player ever to touch an NBA floor.  I would put the big O in there too but i have never watched him play other than on NBA classic.

I watch Kobe and his team play.

So is this a cryptic way to say no since he is out now?

Yup. He comes back I'll watch the NBA again. Until then, Go UCONN!

You should have seen him play in high school....dude was a beast which is pretty understandable given his career in the NBA.

I'm foremost an NFL fan...Bills, Payton Manning, Tom Brady, Larry Fitzgerald, etc.

Second, I love soccer, but I also love the NBA.

I grew up watching Dr. J play, even got to see him when I was a wee lad in NJ and the Sixers crushed the Nets. He was the man.

I love(d) Jordan, and a slew of other superstars throughout the years (Chris Mullin gave me permission to have a buzz cut in the early 90s when it wasn't cool for white boys)...

Anyhow, I'm a HUGE fan of Kobe. I loved it when Dirk got his ring, have been supremely disappointed in Dwight, but excited for OKC, LA Clips, Pacers. Though I long for the day/month (December?) when Kobe returns. I just don't know if he's got another ring in him. The Lakers have too many calcified arthritic bones on the roster.

And as for Chicago? D Rose can ball. That's all I have to say. Oh and why haven't I mentioned the Heat? Hmm.

Chris Mullin had one of the smoothest jumpers ever.

The heat are going to be tough to dethrone and i think they have the talent to literally slack and make the playoffs with whatever seed and turn it on and win it all....again.

Lebron is a crazy special talent.  He is like Magic johnson with athleticism and more strength.

Sixers 3-0??  With wins against the Heat and Bulls already?  Why do they have to mess with my emotions because i know they will tank and probably only will 25-30 games but man, they are playing with some heart early in this season.

Love NCAA B-Ball, NBA to me is BORING for many reasons.

Talk about a beast in high school straight to the NBA. Think LeBron James. I enjoy watching the heat.

Lebron is a special talent that in 20 years everyone will look back and say d**n, I got to watch him play.

  • Super User

Oh yeah I watch and in a kincks fan.. but I don't really watch as much basketball as I do baseball during the reg season... but I do watch all the playoff games.
