Cherokee Lake Tn

4 posts in this topic

Been a while since I've been there (Grew up on Cherokee). I would say you pretty much can't go wrong. Something is always biting if you aren't super particular. Bass,Stripers, Crappie, Catfish etc. Just a heck of a fun lake to fish.

I haven't fished Cherokee since I was a teenager (I'm 35)...but back then, the standard lures to use...the ones that were always tied on...were lipless cranks & T-Rigged soft plastic lizards (pumpkinseed w/ a chartruese tail).

Again...that's been many...many years ago.

I loved that lake & can't wait to fish it again. I do remember that lake getting pretty rough when the wind is kicking...really rough.

Was out there a couple weeks ago with a buddy for a few hours. As always this time a year it was down about 40 ft and it was muddy. Still caught bass on a trap. Ended up boating a nice 4 lb smallie! It's been super super cold so bundle up!
