Hey guys I just bought this depth finder about a month ago and was just wondering on some tips to setting it up. Also would it be better to mount it to the transom our inside the hull?

IF you have a suitable hull, you can epoxy the transducer inside the bilge AFTER you test for the best location.

The factory settings work very well for most conditions.

Well I have it mounted to the transom right now and it works fine trolling but when I put the motor in gear it quits reading so I was just going to mount it in the hull.

That appears that you did not install the transducer on the transom correctly for your hull type.

How about posting a picture of your transducer installation for critique?
