The wire from the transducer hits the transom mount when you reverse the mount. Do you have to cut on the transom bracket to keep it from doing this?

I am thinking about buying the Lowrance Elite 4x sonar version. No DI or anything just the color sonar version. Does anybody know if you can mount the transducer that it comes with inside the hull?

Well everything is mounted correctly and the supply power is directly from the battery. Transducer is mounted on the trolling motor, and still not a good reading. I will try to take a picture of the screen next time I go out to give a better illustration.

I need some help setting up my humminbird 561 sonar. When I turn the unit on the sonar shows nothing but grey. I have reduced the noise and the sensitivity and it dulls down the grey but thats it. Never shows fish or much structure. I really know nothing about sonars and would like help atleast with basic settings to get the sonar going.

Well I have it mounted to the transom right now and it works fine trolling but when I put the motor in gear it quits reading so I was just going to mount it in the hull.

Thanks will do. Well water temps have been in the mid 60s to low 70s. Another thing is that its been cold front after cold front hitting here and I am assuming its got the bass running in circles.

Hey guys I have been fishing since I was little but just bought my first boat about 6 months ago. This fall I am really trying to clamp down on fishing now that I have what I need to do so. I am having trouble finding where fish may be in the fall transition. I have caught few and far between on top water(zara spooks and frogs). I have a Humminbird 561 fish finder that I am still learning on how to use. So any tips as far as bait, structure, or just places to start would be great. My main lakes are Caddo Lake, Cross Lake, and Lake Bistineau.
