Anyone ever tried these?

I'm looking to get into throwing hard swimbaits, but I can't bring myself to spend $30+ on one lure.

I figured these might do the trick without breaking the bank.

Any opinions on this lure would be greatly appreciated.

I've got a few. They're great baits and have a great action when worked correctly. I have had best luck slowly waking it across the surface at dawn/dusk. The bass just swirl on it and it's gone! Another plus about this bait is when it sinks down to the bottom, it stands on its trebles like a sitting bluegill. I take advantage of this by using it on beds. It just...sits there. And the bass cant handle it!

I was thinking of getting the black crappie and the bluegill.

It's what bass primarily feed on in my waters.

You tried either of the two?

I have the blue gilll and it works good for me. These are great swimbaits for the price.

   I've been really disapointed with mine. You have to get the retrieve speed just right or the action is poor.

  Its as realistic looking as all get out, but just doesnt get bit for me. Personally I'd look elsewhere...

Have you tried a "walking the dog " technique?? this has been successful for me. When its just below the surface Walk it a little, then let it drop, reel in to get it back towards the surface and walk it again, repeat until you get a bite or its back at the boat. Very rarely do i actually just cast and reel.

I only use them for bed fishing and use the blue gill color. Works great for that.

I did and actually thought that was the only action that looked the good, working it with a little slack like a spook. But again but wasnt able to connect even though they were chewing other baits.

Just like everything else...

Everything else is not quite that finicky. A guy was trying to modify one on here a while back for this reason. Lures sometimes differ from bait to bait, but the margin for error on mine is very very fine.

Well at least you know when you're working it the right speed!

I have several of them. They work well when retrieved at a medium speed. They don't have a lot of action when retrieved too slowly (they look lazy when you slow roll them). And they will roll over when retrieved too fast (means you can't burn them well). They work okay when jerked. The reason they work well for bedded bass is that you can work them over a bed and let them sink. They sink horizontally and rest on their hooks on the bottom.

The bait is well made. I was the one that modified one to get a wider swimming action. My mod didn't work. But I was able to determine that this is one rock-solid bait. But performance-wise, it's disappointing for a Jackall. Jackall makes great baits. This isn't one of them. Its lack of action and bizarre behavior reduces its versatility.

For a pure jointed swimbait, I say save a few bucks, skip the Giron, and get a Sebile Magic Swimmer. The Magic Swimmer has a better action at all speeds, and jerks better (it will actually turn around on itself when jerked). 

If you have to have a Jackall Swim Bait, one that works exceptionally well is the Mikey and Mikey Jr.  The Mikey is a few dollars more than the Giron, and the Mikey Jr about the same price. 

If you want a swimbait that works about 90% as well as the Mikey, but sells for $8, the River2Sea V-Joint is a good choice.

Well it looks like I am going to get the bluegill despite the mixed reviews.

It's only $20 so I won't lose much if I don't like it.

I was also thinking about getting the Tylure Kicker Sunfish.

Any thoughts about this lure?

I would pick the tylure kicker over the giron. I do not own a the kicker but I have seen it in a demo tank and it will be a part of my arsenal by next spring. He makes a great bed bait also that rests nose down. I would already own them but due to purchasing a new calcutta, several 3:16 baits, a rago and some baitsmiths I had to curb my spending a little.

I am going to recomend one of my competitors. I feel that the Giron is posibly the worst swimming bluegill bait I have seen. In that similar price range the Tylures is a much better bait.

Can't stand the giron. The action is horrible and its very hard to get it to do what you want it too.Looks realistic but sure doesn't act it. I cant see any way that this bait is going to produce anymore fish in numbers or quality than something else in my box. I've put my fair share of time into it and it just doesn't cut it for me. Just my opinion.
