I like my rod built with a MHX HM blank more than my NRX of the same specs!

You'll love it

Awaiting my kit the wife is buying me for Christmas.  Hopefully I'll have it finished by then.  This will be my third complete build and I'm anxious to start it.  I've already practiced the butt wrap design I intend to use and I'm also adding an aluminum winding check and trim rings for the handle.  The customer service  prior to purchase was fantastic.  The guy really took his time in helping me decide on, not only the right blank but handle, guides, etc.  He even helped me pick out the thread colors.

Just wait until you catch your first fish on the first rod you build.  Nothing like it and all the fish that will follow will also have special meaning.

Don't forget to post some pics of the finished product.  Tight Wraps!

Rod biulding can be addictive. Once you start you will want to build more and more. Just take your time and be patient when building. Rushing tends to leave a less then desireable result. And like papajoe said once you catch one on a rod you made is just that more awsome.

Yeah I'm already filling up a notebook full of ideas for the next one.  I love to jig fish and have heard those Phenix K2s are pretty amazing...

You will like that blank!

That's a very nice blank with performance on par with much more expensive ones. One suggestion though, try the Aero seat and get help choosing a guide train that is lighter. This will max the benefit of that nice blank.

Good luck & enjoy
