In Need Of A Light Weight Medium Fast Rod.

Featured Replies

I want something 7 to 7.6. For bait casting 1/4 oz curly tail jigs. 20 lb braid

I usually only use MH. For good reason I want to feel the bottom. And the fish bite.

But I'm thinking with all these new rod building materials on the market. I might drop the weight and get close to the same feel at least. And be able to load the tip more on cast.

This will be a truck bed, bank fishing rod for white bass. So I don't want a high dolor one. Nor do I want one of those high yellow suckers. Unless you guys are really feeling the bottom?

$60 would be cool. $100 if I have to. But it would really need some feel.

At $60 you aren't really going to get a good sensitive rod. At $100 you can get a nice used rod from the flea market or they're are a few good ones in that range. *** *** black and Denali Jadewood are both right at $100

BPS Carbonlite. You can find them on sale for $79 several times a year.

H20 ethos for 59.99 from academy. ... Won't find a better rod for the price.

If you going to spend less than 100, you might want to look at an xtra fast with a lower grade graphite as it will more like an actual fast. I think the new Daiwa Lexa rods would fit the bill, but I'm also kinda partial to Daiwa rods. The Lexa can be had for 80 bucks off that auction site. If not keep an eye on the for sale forums for a used rod

I'm also a Diawa and Shimano for that mater rod fan. From way back. But I might have to look at the carbonlites. Sense I'm headed there soon anyway. No academy here yet. But il take a look if I can find it else where.

Thanks guys. I didn't want to have to feel up every rod on the rack. They always look at me funny. Lol

Agreed. I have been very pleased with mine. I just got two more for Christmas, for a total of 3.
