It was my answer to this thread that Ww2farmer found stupid if I am not mistaken. To clarify my original statement, its "my" opinion that the Revo S serves me better in lighter applications than that of the MG in frogging applications. I have used both of these reels for well over a year, and the Revo S, for me  doesn't have the back bone, even with it's 20lb drag to be a frogging reel. The MG with its lower drag serves me better in frogging imho. Hopefully, this clarifies my stupidity.

I think there was some mis understanding. I read the comment as you prefer the sx for plastics and the mg for frogging. Perhaps ww2 read it as the sx can't or is incapable of being a frog reel.

Maybe they measure "max drag" with most of the line out because the less line in the spool the stronger the drag

Simmer down cowboy, I thought your blanket, and fairly ignorant statement in your first post that the Revo was not  capable of being a "frog" reel while the Lews is, was stupid. And I a not the only one who figured out that is how I took it ............read below.

because of leverage. with less line on the spool, the lever is less. with only one wrap of line, the lever is equal to the diameter of the spool. with a full spool, the lever is maybe 1/2" more, depending on how deep it is.

 

thus, if you hang an X amount of weight on both reels, the second one will make the drag slip with less weight than the first one.
