Help With Lowrance Cables Please

Featured Replies

I had an x125 on the front of my boat using the trolling motor built-in transducer.  It was using a power cable with 2 wire bundles coming out of the blue plug (separate from the transducer blue plug).  I just upgraded to a Low 522 gps that came with a blue plug with 3 wire bundles coming out.

Question: Can I use the existing blue plug with 2 wire bundles coming out instead of rewiring the 3 bundle plug???  I only plan on using the transducer and gps, no networking to my other ff.

Thanks

I am curious how you had only 2 wire bundles coming from your power/data cable in the first place- you most likely are missing the nmea of some kind- 1083(transmit) or 2000 (connect to) since your 125 was unable to do either although should of had both.  Really though, run the new wire from your newer unit and just tape them off with electric tape or wire nuts.

let me know if I am way off from what you are asking here.

After looking at the wiring diagram again, the 3 bundle power wire is for the GPS, like you stated.

1. red/white/black (thick) - Power

2. red/black (thin) - NMEA (GPS)

3. multiple colors - networking

It should plug and play.  The gps is built in.

As long as I have the 3 bundled cord.  I found out the gps won't work with the 2 bundle since it doesn't have the NMEA.  Found it on page 93758792 of the manual :)  I guess it is good that the manual has so much info.
