Need Help With A Fenwick Gt70M Model Number I Cant Find Enough Info

Featured Replies

Just picked this up used.  Im going to use it for soft plastics I think but I don't know exactly what the action is,  I'm assuming its Medium with action Moderate/Fast but don't know for sure.  Its specified for 8-20lb mono and 1/4-1oz weight.  Is this more of a crankbait rod?  Either way its fine,  just starting to build up my arsenal.

Thanks,

Scott

I never heard of that model, but I'm assuming you checked on google?  Anyway, I would just try it out to see what it would be good for and then go from there.

Thanks,  I did check on google,  really only the new stuff,  this is not new.  Your advice is probably best.  Thank You

I would say it would be good for T-rig soft plastics in water with less structure and for squarebills and Traps .

Fenwick is fast.

Rod has medium power and Medium fast tip action  1/4- 1 oz lure weight and 8-20 pound line weight and it is a casting rod that was last made in 2012.  Looks like soft plastics to me.

medium-fast rods will usually provide a little more casting distance and still provide adequate hooksetting power. These actions are often used for applications that involve treble hooks, such as crankbaits and topwater lures or other reaction baits such as spinnerbaits I guess not soft plastics
