Kayak Fishing Spooking Fish

Featured Replies

I like to keep my kayak in deeper water and that seems to help me not spook fish. The deeper you are the farther away the fish is from you obviously and the less spooked they will get from your movements. I fish very very clear lakes in NC and I have been able to spot bass 8-10 feet deep while I was almost directly overhead of them. Just be sure to keep quiet and cast to shallow water instead of paddling through it. Hope this helped and best of luck yak fishing!

I bought a Nucanoe Frontier 12' last fall.  A little expensive, but I couldn't be happier.

I am super jealous, I am in a pelican right now and would like to move into a nucanoe at some point.
