There are close to twenty lakes in NE Ok I'd like to fish this year that I haven't been to before. Among them are:

Oolagah

Hudson

Copan

Birch

Hominy

Skiatook

Pawhuska City

Been to and would like to go back to:

Lone Chimney

Blue Stem

Fairfax

Ponca City

Pawnee

Sooner

If my partner were retired, we would probably have a better chance of getting this done but he's a ways from that yet.

Yea I am  retired and it makes it a lot easier for me. Most of my buddies are still working whuch makes it harder to travel. Sometimes the " warden", lol, comes along. Whoever goes with, we normally have a great time. Don't allways catch the big uns, or the numbers but we usually do ok.

If I can get some vacation time from work, I'd love to get down to Bull Shoals, or Table Rock.

We go there twice a year and we love it. I think it's the most beautiful lake in Missouri. Just our opinion.

We did real good on smallies the last time.

Current plans call for 2014:

Grand Lake O the Cherokees

Mark Twain Lake (2 times minimum)

Lake Long Branch

Lake Rathbun

Lake Odessa (6 or more)

Upper Mississippi Pool 9 -15 (multiple trips)

Misc. Iowa Local lakes & ponds

Probably will fish 70-80 days this year minimum. Will start week of March 17th at Grand Lake and then start hitting small Iowa lakes for the big pre spawn bass. After that I move into seasonal lakes and river, probably end of May until everything is iced over in December.

Is Lake Long Branch in Northeast Missouri? If so, any good?

Hudson is a good lake, but there are way better fisheries in NE oklahoma than the other ones you listed (According to me  :wink2: ). haha

Grand Lake

Tenkiller

Green Leaf

Dripping Springs, in Okmulgee

are in my top 5 with Hudson

If you go to hudson be careful lots of hidden stumps and rocks in the water.  I tore up a prop at hudson.  Stay in Channel when you can.

I fish Ft Gibson a lot just because it is closest to me its a good lake.

Are you talking about the Island Lake near Lengby, MN?

I've been taking a trip to this lake for the last 2 years.

We fish Gibson a lot too, it's close. We couldn't buy a fish out there today though!
