Are the weed guards the right size?    Mine are always so tight they can only be in one position.

If you are using thinner weedguards, put a piece of tape on the edge of the hook face and then just touch the weedguard to the tape. I do this all the time. It will hold the weedguard in place until the glue or epoxy sets. I sent you a PM with some pics

I'm thinking (fearing) you're talking about the weedguards coming apart when curing the powder paint. If so, it isn't going to work - always cure in the oven without the weedguards.
