Just got into tying skirts so I can have backups not worried about saving money. Is there a formula for skirts colors? By this I mean to get a chart belly should I sandwich a chart tab between two colors or would it be top -black, middle blue, bottom chart  etc. I can find it out through trial and error but why waste skirts  if people have done it already

If you want a chartreuse belly use chartreuse as the bottom tab, and tie it that way.

Be fearless you never know when some haphazard combo is going to be the next "great"color

I should have stated that I am banding jigs and not tying them. Tying seems nicer but banding is quicker on the water.

When you band skirts it makes it very hard to get the colors exactly where you want them and you then have to watch and make sure they go on with the colors in the right place on the body. For a chartreuse belly you do want the color on the bottom but when you band it you will get a few stragglers and it is going to happen you just need to make the best of it.

Learned that the hard way. Tape fixes that problem a little bit.
