Polarized lens colors?

Featured Replies

Does anyone use vermillion? I'm looking for an all around pair of polarized sunglasses that I can use on cloudy days as well as bright sunny days. Costa and a few other companies sell vermillion, which looks pretty much like orange to me. Just wondering what conditions these would be good for.

This is what the Cabela's Buyers Guide says:

"Vermilion is an excellent tint for increased depth perception in low light. Vermilion increases contrasts of objects against blue and green backgrounds."

To see what they say about other colors, go to any sunglasses item on their site and click "Buyer's Guide."

I use copper color lenses in my Cocoons.

Smoke, I spoke with Costa last week.  They are not phasing our vermillion and sunrise.

Lav,  I don't understand what you wrote.  Can you elaborate?

my mistake.  They said they are phasing out vermillion and sunrise.

I guess Costa is phasing out Vermillion because nobody likes it.  That is reason enough for me to switch my focus to Amber.  I have a pair of Maui Jim's in Amber glass that I really like, but they are just to heavy for me.  I will try to sell them on the fleamarket forum and use the money for the Costas.  Thanks everyone for the info.

i like using amber    works well in all conditions   i tend to see bass my buddys dont see when wearing smoke colored lens
