Bps Xps Extreme Trigger Rods

Featured Replies

Hey fellas,

I've done a couple of of searches and can't seem to really find any information on these rods. I have found several reviews on the Carbon Lites, but nothing on these bad boys. I really like the way the handles are shaped but that's from what I've seen online... they are on sale at BPS... I just ordered a 7'10" H XF to use for pitching, fishing deep jigs, and heavy swim baits... Any thoughts?

I have 2 Extreme Rods that were my first 2 Baitcasting rods. Got them about 9 or 10 years ago. Still some of my favorite rods and am always considering getting another.  They are good rods that are often overlooked because of all of the new "upgrades" like microguides and the carbon blanks and stuff.  I presonally love the feel of the Extreme Rods and with them on sale, I think you got a good rod for the money.  Good Choice!

Solid and dependable in my opinion. Not the lightest rod, nor the heaviest. Middle of the pack would be a safe place to put it. For the current sale price you are getting good value. I have a 7ft MH. Its a nice stick I use it for jigs mostly and heavy trigs. It seems pretty stiff maybe to stiff for some , but I don't really have any other 7ft MH rods to compare it too. Good luck!

I frog with a 7' H and love it.  Great action, excellent double-footed guides, carbon fiber cross wrapping on a good blank.  The rod is tip heavy though.  It's not the best balanced rod I've ever had.

I've heard of the telescoping models breaking at the telescoping portion of the rod.  It's something to watch out for.

Thanks for the input guys.. I have some nicer rods, mostly St. Croix, but I ordered one just for fun!

No personal experience but buddy has had several for 5+ years and are still going strong. They are still his go to flipping rods and any other rods he get are all extremes.
