Rod Repair Question?

Featured Replies

As I was going through my gear this past weekend I realized that one of the inserts (guide)on my fishing rod eyes is missing? I hope I am using the right words here.   Its actually the the round plastic guide that fits into the eyes on my reese rod.  Is this a piece I can replace myself? Are they available? And if so where would I find them?   Thanks so much...  Lee

You can get the replacement guides at most stores that sell fishing gear.  If it's a tip it's really easy.  I've never repaired the other ones, but you could find videos on youtube.

Its actually the first guide from the base.  Like I said the eye itself is all there. Just the round plastic insert that goes into it.

The entire guide needs to be replaced, rewrapped and refinished. On single foot guide you're looking at $7-$10 plus the guide most likely to be repaired by a local builder. I'd be happy to do it but the shipping is prohibitive in this case.
