Soft Water

Featured Replies

this week temp in 50s coming anyone find or fish open water yet? in mass

Did a drive by some small local ponds and lakes today.  Seems total ice-out is near, most of the bodies of water still had some areas of ice, but lots of open water especially near river outlets.  Unfortunately temps in the forecast for the next 2 weeks or so are still very cold at night, I'll probably look to wet some lines in the next 10 days or so, but don't expect the fishing to really "heat-up" if you will for a while still.

Also- the next few weeks are likely a good time to start targeting some prespawn northerns if there are any in your area...

Here in Upstate NY the rivers are still frozen almost solid. We have a LONG way to go unfortunately. Temps dropping down to the low teens again tonight.

i was doing some fishing in the Pennichuck,  it is now frozen over again !!!

Hey Nev anything on the Nashua area opened yet? For a couple years I fished a lot there. There's that pond off main st I think salmon falls that must be almost open?

Here in western MA, most ponds/lakes still have almost 2 feet of ice on them! Seems like this winter will just never end. It is encouraging that the temps are edging upward, but way too slowly for my liking. Maybe by this week's end we'll a break.

We're mostly opened in my immediate area of Manchester idk about the bigger lakes like massabesic but with the sun and wind it catches I bet it's not bad

Like where? I work in Manchester and haven't seen any open water.
