New Lure coming out.

Recommended Posts

Anyone had the chance to see a new lure coming out that doesn't move from the spot it was cast to.    A Top water/medium diver.

The lure has multiple possibilities, can dive up to 8' or less by position of the rod tip.

You can walk the dog with half the action required on a spook type bait just by giving it a half wind.

Shaking the rod tip and half a wind gives it surface flutter like injured bait fish.

The patent on this bait was 1998, its taken a few years to get the bugs out.    The current protype was made from wood, two pieces that are hinged.

The finished product will come from ABS plastic early 2007.

A top water bait that dives or doesn't move when on top.

Will this be the "new lure of 2007" like the "chatterbait" was in 2006?

Matt.

Matt, I have seen a couple lures like that but I am not sure its the same one. You got a link or photo. The ones I am talking about are like a swimbait/jerkbait but act like a wacky worm since they have a hinge in the middle and you tie on in the middle.

I think Randall is talking about the  Fish Arrow Slide Jack, but it has been out for about a year I think.

Yea, thats one of them but there are a few more that are like them out there now. Deps has one called a Killer Compass that just hit the states also. It will swim around the angler in a circle. I saw another one or two that were sinkers somewhere that would sink and swim off at a 45% angle instead of coming straight back or could be pulled up on the surface and twitched like a wacky worm. Theres a lot of very cool different baits in Japan right now I have been looking at. I have used some glide baits before that have been used in the US by musky fishermen for years. Its something bass here havent seen and they work great on big fish. The glide baits made in Japan now are really nice and starting to come to the US and appear from some of the videos to work a little better than anything we have here. I see these type of baits starting the next craze here as the next "magic bait" that everyone has to have.

Sounds like a decent idea, guess we shall see how it produces...

The one BD is referring to is similar (if not the same thing) as a lure that was being sold through Cabela's several years ago that was billed as the "slowest jig ever".  I got one and it was a piece of crap.  The "craw" part was hollow plastic and was stiff as a board.  I threw it away and fially lost the jig a month or so ago while fishing in an area where I was likely to hang up.
