Hi Folks,

I am new to Bass fishing and recently caught a couple of 15inch Big mouth bass. I have a little hanging scale in my tackle box but when I tried to weigh the fish I had no idea where to attach the hook in order to do it. Could someone please give me some advice on how to do this?

Put the fish in your dip net and hang the scale on it.  You will get the weight of both and can subtract the weight of the scale.

If you get the legnth and the girth you can go to the Fish Weight Calculator under Tacklebox.

If you are shore fishing just be careful if you are weighing the bass above rocks. I've seen people attempt to weigh fish only to have the bass slip off and land with a solid chunk in the rocks...
