Trying To Pick A Reel

Featured Replies

I can't decide between the bb1 or the lews super duty i have a speed spool now and love it if I got the bb1 it would go on a st croix mojo bass crank bait rod for top waters cranks and plastics. And I would use my speed spool on a berkley lighting shock rod for flipping frog in and for Skinny dippers but if I got the super duty I would use that for frogging flipping and skinny dippers on the berkley and my speed spool on my st croix for cranks, plastics, top waters

I have the super duty and i use it for frogging and i love it. i winched a 13lb snakehead out of a thick grass mat no problem.

If you are trying to decide between the BB-1 or super duty, i say super duty all the way. The baseline BB-1's arent very smooth and feel cheap to me. Now, i have not handled the BB-1 Pro but from the specs it looks like its the same reel as the super duty but with aluminum gears instead of brass. I'd still choose the super duty over the BB-1 Pro. Its $20 less and can take anything you throw at it.

In my experience the bb1 have been good. It's butter smooth and does the job well. I've throw flukes drop shots senkos and other soft plastics in the wind. It did well and I didn't get any backlash.

I've read the description on lews.com and from my understanding it's meant for throwing heavier baits.

You can't go wrong with either. Good luck with your purchase.
