Shimano And Price Drop

Featured Replies

seems the Gs price went almost through the floor but the Es are still pricey. With the new CI4 when will the Es somewhat go down. I Know they are good but I was just wondering as the E207 is still 200.00 vs the new CI4 that my dicks for some reason has on sale for like 245.00

Apparently the Chronarch E is still selling very well, no need to discount them.

I don't know about the Chronarch E's, but every place I go they are OUT of the Curado E's.  Don't have any - ain't gonna get no more - get over it - buy a Chronarch --  That 's what I'm hearing from the different tackle stores I frequent.

From what I hear the Chronarch E isn't being replaced yet...I wouldn't say the Ci4 would be the one to replace it or affect it's sale, it would more likely be the Curado I that knocks it out.  I think they will do something next year, either remove it from the line up or upgrade it to fit in between the Ci4+ and the Curado I.

The curado E has been discontinued since around 2011.

I think the chronarch E will last maybe a few more months, but probably not even until icast. I am guessing that it will not sell too great once the general public starts buying the curado I that has been hard to find lately and hasn't been instock anywhere (especially the lefties). Apparently the E's are still being manufactured but who knows.

A quote from the main Shimano rep at the other forum stated the Chronarch E will be around into next year.

Read this as well. Personally love the Chronarch E series. Picked up my second 50E recently. Aaaawesome reels.

The Chronarch ci4+ won't really effect the sales of the chronarch E because of price difference and even though they share the same Chronarch name the E is really a White Curado. Once the Curado I fills up stores with no waiting then will the E series be hurting. A Curado I with more features, so far being a superior reel from limited reviews, and $20 cheaper than an E, then we may see the elimination of the E and hopefully clearance sales.

Same here, I wish I never sold mine. Heck it was beat to crap and It was still fantastic.

This.

Once the general public finds out about this new curado (or for that matter sees it in stores since it has been very hard to find anywhere, especially lefties), the ch E will not sell... other than the 50e.

I think they should discontinue the 200e and just keep the 50e at the $199 price. Gotta have a low dollar 50 size.

Its all a mystery to this point unless you're a rep. I really hope we see a 50 size Curado this year. Maybe Shimano will revamp the Chronarch E series, maybe not. Seems silly at the current price point. I recall reading several threads rumoring the Es would be discounted soon, but I'm not so sure. I have as many 51s and T3s I can handle, so if Daiwa or Shimano don't introduce a new small platform reel this year I may find myself purchasing a few Lews, although I'd rather not.

Or just bring out a 50 series Curado I..... ;)

Yeah, I want 2 in LH!
