Anyone have a favorite spinnerbait thats seen its last days because of a dull hook?

Or maybe like myself,youve been throwing cranks,and hooked into some discarded line,and on the end of that line is a spinnerbait thats been on the bottom for who knows how long.

I have such a spinnerbait,and the hook point is toast,but I think the rest of the hook is ok.

This spinnerbait can be used again(with success) Just throw a trailer hook and keeper on it and your back in business.

This may not be such a big deal or discovery,but for those that hadnt thought of it,keep this tip in mind.

Depending on the condition of the hook I'd either sharpen it if enough of the point is left or if the head portion is large enough, cut the hook off directly behind the head, then drill a small pilot hole right above and parallel to the hook. Take a small stainless eye bolt, like those used to make wooden swimbaits and screw it into the hole. Open the eye slightly and slip your favorite worm hook on before closing up the eye.  This has the added bonus of allowing the hook to swivel and give less leverage to the bass when they try to shake it.

X4 - I sharpen them all the time. I check 'em out of the package and periodically after that - touch them up when necessary...
