Any Body Using Or Tried Out The "porta-Bote? Opinions?

Featured Replies

Hi all,

I sure have a lot of questions and so far you guys have been great with replies. Has anybody else seen or have firsthand used the Porta-Bote for fishing?I have one and use it to access areas for scuba diving in some of the manmade reservoirs. I know it's pretty stable for that purpose, but there are several accessories for turning it into a 14ft fishing boat. Anybody try thta and if so could you share experiences. Thanks in advance!!

I fished out of one with another guy. Watching him unfold and assemble this thing I was wondering what I got myself into. Getting onto the water was a lot quicker than I thought it would be. Rigged with a depth finder and electric trolling motor, I was shocked at how well this thing fished. Every bit as stable as some small john boats I've been in. Transportable on the roof of a small car, these are worth considering as an affordable way to get on the water imo.
