Need Reel And Rod Setup.

Featured Replies

Can anyone give me a reel and rod setup under $100? I will not be fishing that much so don't want to go overboard in purchasing equipment and will mainly fish for panfish, large mouths, and smallies only.

Are you looking for a recommendation on what and where to buy?... or wanting someone to actually give you a free rod and reel combo?

Also what type of setup are you wanting? The 2 most popular used are baitcasters (take some time to perfect and generally used for 10lb test line and larger tackle), or spinning (great for lighter line and tackle typical of finesse techniques).

If I had to pick only one based on the info you listed above it would probably be a spinning combo.

Agree ^^^^^ Spinning combo. I think wal mart and or mejier has the presidents combos on sale for like 79.99. For that you have room for line and maybe a few lures. Not going to be the best combo in the world but it will get you started.

I don't want to spend big money on a really expensive combo if you could catch the same kind of fish with a cheap set up. Thanks for the info though!
