Regular Power Tatula Rods

Featured Replies

ive been looking at these and im wondering if the regular power is the same as a meduim power rod? Also what kind of lures would be good for this rod?

I can only speak for the one Tatula casting rod that I have - the 7'7" m-r (TAT771MRB) - it fishes like a moderate-fast (a pretty nifty open-water lipless crank rod).

That's a nice looking rig... I was looking at these... I need a new cranking setup for lipless etc

I have also been wondering on the Tatula R action rods also.  Daiwa suggested I try the 7' 2" MH/R for swim jigs so that is the rod I purchased.  Haven't got to try it out yet. But it feels and acts like my Fenwick Aetos 7' 2" MH/XF rod.  So time will tell.

I picked up, and absolutely love, the 7' medium/regular for most of my treble hooked baits.

I see a few others making their way home with me.

hey goose52, i'm thinking of picking that exact rod. do you happen to have the weight of it?

I weigh all my new rods so I DO have the weight.  Mine is 130.3 grams (~4.6oz).  Not particularly a light weight by todays standards but it IS 7'7".  With the Tat reel on it - it feels fairly light in the hand (given the length) and balances 1.5 inches ahead of the knurled lock ring (right at the hook-keeper winding).

It's a nice rod...

goose, thanks. i got my tatula 7'6" flipping stick last week and it only weighs 4.3 ounces. 4.6 ounces is still very good for a slower action rod of this length. my 7'6" veracity winch (MH/mod) weighs 5.0 ounces.

I picked up, and absolutely love, the 7' medium/regular for most of my treble hooked baits.

Hows mid depth running cranks and squarebills on this one? Able to rip through grass ok? Idea of weight and balance ?

Thanks for help

It's great for crankbaits in the 10 foot depth and less range.

I have mine paired with a Daiwa Alphas Ito. It's a very light combo. I also had a Zillion on the rod, but put the Alphas on it as it was much better in my hand.
