Hey so the bass fishing has really picked up i found good finesse pattern latey that has been killer except I have had a horrible hook up ratio :'(. yesterday was 1 hookup and 5 misses :-/. Anyway my question is how do you guys increase hook up ratio on weedless baits? (flukes, shaky head etc.) thanks

Yeah I am switching to owners or tro-kar tomorrow and see if that helps.  Anyone tried tro-kar yet? Are they worth the money or should I get owner hooks?

Stick with Owner hooks.  The Twistlock light with CPS should be perfect for those applications.

I agree. I used cheap Eagle Claw hooks for years and still had decent hookup ratio. Are you rigging Texas style or Tex-posed?

texas rigged. I recently switched to strike king coffee shad and they are softer than zoom flukes. In part it has been operator error not waiting that extra second, however I think that my poor quality hooks arnt penetrating the soft plastic and the plastic is just flexing instead of letting the hook penetrate it.

Unless you're fishing heavy cover, I'd try Texposed over Texas rigged. If you're certain that it's your hooks, have you tried sharpening them? What brand of hooks are you using?

Using bps or lazer sharp hooks. However I switched to owner and they seem to be a lot sharper. What is tex-posed I have heard the term before but I am not familiar with rigging it that way

I use H20 hooks because they are cheap. Lose maybe 1 out of every 15 bites if that. I wait one second and then give it a good strong side sweeping hook set and that works really well for me. If pitching reeds or grass I watch the line more than feel it. When the line starts to move then still a side sweeping hook set but much harder.

Its just like a texas rig, but instead of leaving the hook point buried in the plastic, you push it through so the hook point is exposed, but flush with the bait.

I don't know if switching hooks is the 100% answer to hook up problems or not - that said - Owner hooks are fantastic and IMO I don't see a reason to spend the extra $ on TroKar.
