Alternative A Rig Set Ups

Featured Replies

I got an Alabama rig and used it last Sunday and got it hung up but I was able to pull it out and bend the hook. So this week I removed the jig head that was 3/16 oz. Times five it almost an ounce plus five beefy soft swimmers. This week I am using offset 2/0 hooks and Texas rigging through the top and out the bottom slit.

What are your thoughts about this set up?

What have you all done to change the set up to suit your needs or what you think is an improvement you made?

To me fishing an umbrella rig with exposed hooks in my everyday lake is plain stupidity, same thing goes with d-shots and swimbaits, the place is hang up paradise with all that wood in it, so guess how I rig the baits ? Weedless rigged with a light weighted hook. Sounds familiar doesn't it ?

Yeah I am actually using no additional weights just hooks and the rig. I feel this would give a better casting set up and may help with presentation as well to lighten it up a bit.
