Went to Beltzville on Saturday and absolutely killed it. My best 5 fish were just under 15 lbs. Caught everything on a black and red jig with a rage craw trailer. It seemed like every fish I set the hook on was 2.5 lbs. I love days like that. Had one really nice smallmouth as well. Unfortunately I did not have my GoPro camera for this trip so there is no video

Unfortunately I can’t tell from your photos where exactly you were on the lake.

If I can put one in the box like that I'll be happy.  

We were back in the main creek for most of the day and a lot of them were spawners. The water was a bit muddy though so we didn't see a lot of them before we caught them. You never know what day Beltzville will be the dead sea again!

Nice fish my buddy and I did good last week up there with a jig... Then memorial day comes and we been up there twice this week and only a couple small ones... Fun is over back to the Dead Sea...

Where's Beltzville at in comparison to say...Harrisburg? 

Has anyone fished Beltzville recently?  I'm thinking about heading up there on Sunday.

I have fished Beltzville 4 times this year and it has been it's usual "dead sea" self. I am going there on Wednesday as they should be in spawn now. Should be fun!

Had an AWESOME day. With how clear that lake is, the one thing it is good for is spawn fishing. I recorded everything and I will post a video here when it is done!

 

I ended up using a combination of a 1/2 ounce jig and a drop shot on a casting setup. The jig would get them angry but they wouldn't eat it and then the drop shot caught every fish but one. I've been using this setup for years and it is awesome! Long before Chris Zaldain made it a big deal by catching a 12 pounder, haha. I had a Caffeine Shad on there; Texas rigged.

My son and I fished Beltzville last 7:00-13:30 Saturday 5/9/15. Very frustrating. Spotted loads of fish but none interested in what we were presenting. Lot's of other frustrated fishermen also.

 

Going out again this evening with fingers crossed. Gonna try to get out Sunday AM also. Will try the drop shot as you mentioned.
