Lowrance Elite 4 Hdi?

Featured Replies

I'm looking for a fish finder for my kayak. I'm trying to find something that's nice enough that I won't get the urge to upgrade in the next few years, but not something with so many features that it completely breaks the bank.

I've been looking at the Lowrance Elite 4 HDI. It seems like it has everything I would need, but I haven't used a fish finder before so it's hard to say for sure.

Do you have experience with it? Does it work well? Easy to use? Think it would keep me content for awhile?

I have this unit on my boat and love it.  I rarely need to use the tri screen, I'm usually using sonar or downview in a single screen.  The Elite 4 HDI is currently at my bow, but I'll move it to the console once I get the 7" model..

I've got the same unit on my kayak. Does everything I wanted it to do. I don't use the tri screen often either, usually its either split between gps/sonar or sonar/dsi. Got a free map card with mine too. Not sure if that is still going on.

Yes the free Navionics map cards are still included with them as long as the package you are looking at specifies it's a gold package.

Thanks, guys. I ended up picking this one up, and can't wait to give it a try. Friday can't get here fast enough.
