Heres To Hoping Humminbird's Customer Support Is Helpful.

Featured Replies

Im a tournament angler that relys heavly on my electronics for finding fish, probably goes without saying but its true. Purchased a 899c HD Si 2 months ago and its completely dead as of today. I was idling around a point and the screen flashed and went black. Tried to boot her back up and got nothing, after trying all of the obvious methods to fix it to no avail, I siwtched the 859c HD DI which was on the bow to the console and it turned right on. I took the dead 899 and put it on the bow and tried to fire it up and once again got nothing. Paid $1,000 and got less than 6 uses out of it. Something tells me I am going to be without my sonar for most of the summer if they want me to send it in for repairs. I called customer support after dinner, but they closed at 4 CT. Hopefully they dont let me down tomorrow when I get a hold of them.

It will be back to you repaired or replaced within a week.

Thanks for your encouraging words guys. Im clueless as to what happened to her. The fuse that the marina installed isnt blown and the unit lights up when I power it on, it just never goes any further than the buttons turning orange.

Call HB, They will go over some things to try with you. If it doesn't work you will need to send it in. Ask them for a shipping label since the unit is brand new,  you won't have to pay for the shipping. Also, if you haven't already. register for Humminbird Select. You get a free 1 year warranty extension and a super secret phone number with less of a hold time just for registering. The units usually spend more time in transit than at the shop.

How did this ever work out for you?  I've never had any issues or concerns with Humminbird...just curious.
