Marine Grease

Featured Replies

I need to get a new tube of grease for my gease gun and noticed their is a lot of type of greases oit their. I was looking at the Marine Grease so I could grease my trailer bearings and be better since it gets dunked in the water. But I was looking at all the types. Is Marine Grease ok for wheel bearings? Is their a big difference in the main tube greases? I have seen white, general/multi purpose, marine, wheel bearing, and some others. I was looking to use the grease for qheel bearings and to make some squeaky noises go away like truck door hinge, left springs, different spots on another utility trailer, etc... I was thinking the Marine Grease would be the best but I wasn't sure. I wasn't sure if all the grease is like oil and not a big difference like 10w and 5w is that big of difference and 87 and 93 isn't that big of a difference and you v I uld use any for most.

Also can you use that same grease on your brake pads when you change then to keep them quiet or is that a different type of grease.

Grease is not like oil at all. It is made to protect and be used for what it was intended. If you do not use it for what it was intended. You could have a fire, or destroy what ever you just greased. If in doubt. Check the owners manual.

My owners manual on my boat doesn't say anything about the trailer and which grease needs to be used on the wheel bearings, rollers, or jack.

When it comes to grease, the stickier the better, usually. The green marine grease should work just fine.

You won't the stuff we use at work. Helicopter rotor grease. If it will work for a massive steam turbine it will work for a trailer.
